Getting Started

How do I create an account?

To create an account:

  1. Open Recipe Scout
  2. Tap "Create an Account"
  3. Enter your full name, email address, and password
  4. Tap "Create an Account" to complete registration

How do I import a recipe from a website?

To import a recipe from any website:

  1. Copy the recipe URL from your browser
  2. Open Recipe Scout and go to the Import page
  3. Paste the URL into the URL bar
  4. Recipe Scout will automatically extract ingredients and instructions

Can I scan handwritten recipes?

Yes! Recipe Scout includes document scanning powered by ML Kit:

  1. Go to the Import page
  2. Tap the scan icon (camera icon)
  3. Take a photo of your recipe card or handwritten recipe
  4. Adjust the crop if needed
  5. Our AI will extract the text and organize it into a recipe

How do I organize my recipes?

How does Recipe Search work?

Recipe Search finds recipes from across the web and creates an AI synthesis:

  1. Enter what you want to cook (e.g., "chocolate chip cookies")
  2. Recipe Scout searches multiple recipe sources
  3. AI analyzes the best recipes and combines techniques
  4. You get a synthesized recipe with the best tips and methods

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Your personal recipes and data are never used to train AI models. AI processing happens on-demand for your specific requests only.

Account & Data

How do I change my password?

To change your password, please contact our support team at croznoah@gmail.com with your account email address. We'll help you reset your password securely.

Can I access my recipes on multiple devices?

Yes! Your recipes sync automatically across all devices when you're signed in with the same account.

How do I delete my account?

To permanently delete your account and all data:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap "Account"
  3. Select "Delete Account"
  4. Read the warning carefully
  5. Confirm deletion

Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your recipes, tags, and data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.

Troubleshooting

The app is crashing or freezing

Try these steps:

  1. Restart the app: Close and reopen Recipe Scout
  2. Update the app: Check for updates in the App Store or Google Play
  3. Restart your device: A simple restart often fixes issues
  4. Clear cache: Go to Settings → Clear Cache (this won't delete your recipes)
  5. Reinstall: Delete and reinstall the app (your data is safe in the cloud)

Recipe import isn't working

If recipe import fails:

  • Check the URL: Make sure you copied the complete recipe URL
  • Try a different recipe: Some websites may not be compatible
  • Use document scanning: Take a screenshot and scan it instead

I'm not receiving notifications

To fix notification issues:

  1. Check that notifications are enabled for Recipe Scout in your device settings
  2. Ensure "Do Not Disturb" isn't blocking notifications
  3. For Android: Disable battery optimization for Recipe Scout
  4. For iOS: Check that "Time Sensitive Notifications" are enabled

My recipes aren't syncing

If recipes aren't syncing across devices:

  • Ensure you're signed in with the same account on all devices
  • Check your internet connection

Voice input isn't working

For voice input issues:

  • Grant microphone permissions to Recipe Scout in device settings
  • Check that your device's microphone is working
  • Ensure you're in a quiet environment
  • Try speaking more clearly or closer to the microphone
