Delete Your Recipe Scout Account

We're sorry to see you go! You can delete your Recipe Scout account and all associated data directly from within the app. This page provides step-by-step instructions.

How to Delete Your Account

Follow these simple steps to permanently delete your Recipe Scout account:

Open the Recipe Scout App

Launch the Recipe Scout app on your mobile device.

Navigate to the Account Page

Tap the Account icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

Scroll to the Danger Zone

Scroll down to the bottom of the Account page until you see the Danger Zone section.

Click Delete Account

Tap the Delete Account button in the Danger Zone section.

Confirm Deletion

Read the confirmation message carefully, then confirm that you want to permanently delete your account and all data.

⚠️ Important: This Action is Immediate and Permanent

Once you delete your account, this action cannot be undone. Your account and all data will be immediately and permanently deleted from our servers. There is no recovery period.

What Gets Deleted

The following data will be immediately and permanently deleted:

  • Account Information: Your name, email address, and authentication credentials
  • Recipe Collection: All saved recipes, cookbooks, and recipe notes
  • Tags and Categories: All custom tags and organizational data
  • Preferences: App settings and preferences

Note: Recipe Scout does not store the following data on our servers:

  • Recipe images (stored locally on your device only)
  • AI chat history (not persisted)
  • Search history (not stored)

When Is Data Deleted?

Your account and all associated data are deleted immediately and permanently when you confirm deletion. There is no waiting period or recovery window.

Important: Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered. Make sure you want to proceed before confirming.

Before You Delete

Consider these alternatives:

  • Take a Break: You can simply log out and return anytime without losing your data
  • Contact Support: If you're experiencing issues, we're here to help!

Note: Recipe Scout does not currently offer a data export feature. Once you delete your account, your recipes and data cannot be recovered.
